The problems with IEPs start when parents of these students do not understand what exactly their child is/is not provided with so they can access the curriculum the same as their age/grade level peers. But who can blame them?? It is a pretty daunting task to read all of the laws, rules and regulations.
Didactic Teaching. We all had at least one class where the teacher spouted off information, we wrote down what we thought was important and our grades were dependent how much of his or her rumblings we could regurgitate back on the test.
My A stands for attendance! Oh how teachers struggle with attendance! Not their own, but the students’ consistency to show up every day.
